Paint Your House Magnolia.

A survey undertaken by Privilege Insurance has revealed that a home decorated in an 'unfavourable' colour will not only put off potential purchasers of a house but will also lead to the house being devalued.

Aboutproperty.com has revealed that the price of a house could be reduced by as much as £3,000 to account for poor taste in colours.

The most disturbing element of the research is that over 70% of estate agents are recommending that the most acceptable colour for a house to be decorated in is... magnolia! Who wants to live in a house painted 'ivory silk'!

Colour psychologist, Ms Mountford said magnolia's success was down to its ability to give "a heightened perception of space" as well as projecting "cleanliness and optimism".

Not surprisingly the colours that purchasers wish to avoid are orange and red. Lets just hope Bradford City are not looking to move.
