Building Exchange Competition

Earlier this month the UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) announced the finalists of the 2007 Building Exchange competition. The competition is aimed at construction companies who are designing and developing new and innovative technologies and solutions.
The four finalists have won the opportunity to showcase their cutting-edge products and services to industry leaders at the 2007 Building Exchange event to be held in Valencia, Spain from 18-20 June.
The finalists are Architen Landrell Associates, Hambleside Danelaw, Secure Energy Solutions Group and Packexe Ltd. The overall winner will be announced at the BEX event.
UK Trade & Investment Chief Executive Andrew Cahn said attending this high profile event could potentially generate huge amounts of business for these companies looking to expand their business or export to overseas markets.
“Innovation is vital to the future of the construction industry. Each of the finalists were chosen for their commitment to promoting sustainable construction through technology and innovation,” Mr Cahn said.
“The UK construction industry provides more than £7billion worth of exports every year and has an international reputation for being a leader in intelligent buildings and sustainable design and construction.
“As countries across the world respond to the challenges of climate change and look at ways to reduce their carbon footprints we need to ensure we continue to lead the charge in developing innovative solutions in the construction sector.
“It is essential that we continue to support forward thinking companies who are helping make our living and working environments more sustainable, efficient and cost effective.”
