Everton Poll Fans On New Stadium

Everton Football Club has released images of its proposed new 50,000 capacity stadium at Kirkby last week. The stadium features the traditional layout of four stands, rather than a bowl-shaped design.
It will cost £150m and could be opened by 2010.The stadium will be part-funded by supermarket chain Tesco, with a Tesco store being included as part of the surrounding development.
A ballot will be conducted among over 30,000 Everton fans to decide whether the club’s move to the stadium should go ahead. Early Indications show that the club maybe facing a tough battle against fans. The Daily Post website poll had produced more than 3,375 responses more than 93% of votes cast (3,169) were against the club moving to Kirkby with just 206 in favour.
Nobody was able to vote more than once from the same IP address on any one day, though the huge balance of the result indicates a strong attempt by the anti-move campaigners to have their voice heard.
A separate poll on the Blue Kipper website produced a much closer result, but from a smaller poll of around 650 supporters.Of those, 52% were last night in support of a move, with 48% against.
