Free Guide Available For Flood Repairs

Construction training and research body CIRIA is offering free its latest guide on repairing flood-hit properties. The move was in response to the widespread flooding that has hit many parts of England in the last week.

A spokesman for the body said the free download is available on its flooding website until the end of the month.

The guide covers the repair of common types of domestic buildings in the UK, including masonry construction, framed construction, solid and suspended floors, fenestration, basements, fixtures and fittings and services.

The guide is written primarily for building professionals or insurers who deal with flood damage and repair, but may also be useful to builders, surveyors and householders in commissioning repair work. The guide was written by BRE under contract to CIRIA.
