Apprentices For The Construction Industry

In a continuing effort to drive more young people into apprenticeships, the government looks likely to commit to doubling the number of people in apprenticeships by 2020 to 500,00 across all sectors.

At present there are approximately 3,700 suitably adept young people seeking apprenticeships in the UK construction industry who are struggling to find employers willing to take them on.

Apprentices offer any company a flexible resource, capable of growing with the company.

To further help the take up of apprentices by employers, Construction Skills is offering employers a grant of up to £9,400 over a three year period for every apprentice they take on. They will also assist in the recruitment of an apprentice as well as maintaining an ongoing support for the business
