RMT Suspend Tube Strike
The National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers (RMT) have suspended strike action on the London Tube following nine hours of talks last night. Over 2000 maintenance workers walked out on Monday following concerns over jobs and pensions at Metronet, which went into administration earlier this year,
Transport for London said it had provided RMT with clarified assurances on jobs and pensions during the talks.A TfL spokesperson said: "We are pleased the RMT has suspended its strike action at Metronet following the clarification of all jobs and pensions issues."
The TfL said it would take some time to restore a full service on Wednesday morning as the strike was suspended so late last night.
