£3.5bn To be Spent on Croydon

This is not some kind of stunt by a troubled local authority seeking votes, it is a sign of the intent to raise the profile of one of London's suburbs.

Croydon is seeking a rise in status that could see it being London's third city, behind Westminster and City of London.
A staggering £3.5bn is the budget for the scheme - get more than a few domes for that!
Alsop are major force behind the new partnership to create the Third City. The space age designs, full of covered walkways, open spaces will entice and cater for the ever increasing numbers working and playing in Croydon.

Speaking at the launch, Alsop said: “There is an extraordinary spirit in Croydon......"

Not sure if he was talking about the homebrew...
