Road Safety
How many miles do you drive for work? If you do over 20,000 miles a year you have a 1:2500 chance of being involved in a serious accident.
The Department for Transport is trying to raise awareness of the risks people have whilst driving, especially for work.
It is all too easy to be distracted when you are driving, have a bite to eat, read a map or even worse, pick up your mobile phone. This problem is not just limited to the White Van man. With over 25% of road deaths every year come from those that are driving for work, this is a problem the Government are looking to tackle.
A national awareness programme is intended to try and reduce this terrible statistic. Many companies have taken the initiative and have started to train their staff on safety on the road. Corporate manslaughter being a genuine fear.
