Foreign Filled Jobs

A staggering 80% of new jobs created are being filled by foreign born workers according to a report in the Daily Telegraph this morning.

Since 1997 1.7million new jobs have been created, approximately 1.4m of these have been taken by those born overseas.

It should be noted that this latest statistic, released by the Statistics Commission contradicts the governments record. The Department of Work and Pensions believe their figures are more accurate. They estimate that of the 2.1 million new jobs created, only 1.1m have gone to foreign born workers.

The two sets of figures released go a little way to show how impossible it is to provide accurate statistics. Nevertheless the message delivered is pretty amazing.
