Biomass Scare

The inevitable has happened, it has been found that emissions from biomass boilers are likely to cause an increase in poisonous fumes.

Whilst this is no great surpirse, if this is the case, you really will be in trouble if you want to build in the capital. How on earth do you achieve your 10%? Wind turbines and solar panels are out of the question, ground source heat pumps are extremely restricted and a complete lottery, and now biomass boilers are questionable

The report, commissioned by the London Councils, predicts a sharp rise in poisonous nitrogen dioxide (N2O) smoke particulates and other air pollutants when wood chip biomass are specified in power generation.
