Foreign Office Architects have unveiled their final plans for the roundest building in Madrid!
Practice director Alejandro Zaera-Polo said: “Institute of Legal Medicine is a euphemism for a morgue.
The sphere is something that has a long history of association with death. We wanted to connect to this iconoclastic tradition.”
The building has followed the clients brief of circular space internally with an atrium through the centre. Designed to cope with medical disasters, it will be able to house 250 bodies and protect from infections.
