Price Fixing - Are you Surprised?

Let's be honest - or is it too late for that, how many people are the least bit surprised by the revelations that 112 construction companies have been accused by the Office of Fair Trading is price fixing.

Of these 112 companies some have already admitted to price fixing whilst others have revealed that agreements had been entered into whereby a losing contractor would be paid a sum of money.

Two companies cited include Carillion and Balfour Beatty.

These practices have been going on for years, payments to third parties, price fixing, and holidays abroad. Why it takes an enquiry to reveal what is blatantly obvious is difficult to understand.

If MP's can clean themselves up then can the construction industry?
