20 Blackfriars Road Goes to Appeal

The approval of two towers within the London Borough of Southwark have been called in by the Secretary of State.

The towers designed by Wilkinson Eyre need to be reviewed to establish if they had been designed in accordance with CABE’s guidance on tall buildings, as well as ensure taht the buildings were sustainable enough, provided enough affordable housing, and conformed to both Southwark Council and the GLA’s unitary development plans.

The developer, Circleplane initially had approval for the schemes in January of this year and will be disappointed by the turn of events.
