Carter Jonas and Dreweatt Neate In Merger Talks


Carter Jonas, whose head office is in Mayfair and Newbury based Dreweatt Neate, two of the largest commercial, residential and agricultural agencies in the UK are in talks to merge.

A spokesman for Dreweatt Neat said: ‘Carter Jonas and Dreweatt Neate can confirm that they have held discussions with each other....At a time when there has been considerable consolidation in the property profession, both firms will continue to explore the many opportunities that are presented to them.’

Tim Jones, head of rural, at Carter Jonas said: ‘There have been discussions, but at this stage there is nothing to report.’

Dreweatt Neate has 24 partners and 250 staff spread across 18 offices in London, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Berkshire and Somerset. In 2007 it generated revenue of £13.3m, according to Property Week’s Agency 2008 survey.

Carter Jonas, whose chairman is John Henniker-Major and chief executive is Mark Granger, has offices throughout England. It is best known for selling expensive houses in London and for commercial work in East Anglia and Oxfordshire.Last year it made revenue of £21m.
