Grosvenor opens £1billion “Liverpool One” Today



Grosvenor Estates has unveiled its £1billiom shopping centre in Liverpool to the public today as it announced that 90% of the scheme is let..

Liverpool One chief executive Joanne Jennings told the ECHO: “What you are seeing today is only the first phase of the launch of Liverpool One as we reconnect the streets of the city and link the centre back to its historic docks and waterfront…Liverpool One has brought forward this initial launch by six months so that members of the press and visitors to Capital of Culture 08 can see a ‘joined up’ city once again and get a feel for the sheer level of regeneration taking place.

Big brand retailers such as All Saints, American Apparel, John Lewis, Debenhams and Office are just some of the new names set to open their doors to the public at the shopping complex

Retail space takes up 56% of the 234,000m2 Liverpool One scheme, which also includes leisure, hotel and residential accomodation as well as a 2.2ha park. Later phases of the scheme will open throughout the summer, with the grand opening scheduled for 30 September.
