REC Gets New CEO

The Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has announced that Kevin Green, ex HR director at the Royal Mail, has become its new chief executive.

Angela Masters, chairman of the REC, made the announcement to members in the 2007 Report and Accounts, saying:“I am delighted to announce that Kevin Green is our new CEO and we believe that with his extensive background in HR, he will bring a wealth of valuable experience to the REC at this exciting and crucial time.”

Masters also offered her “sincerest appreciation” to Helen Reynolds, who has been acting CEO for “holding the REC together during a very difficult time following Marcia Roberts’ untimely departure”.

Masters added, in her letter from the chairman, that 2007 was “very much focused” on consolidation, while the change at the top was being finalised.“Now this process has successfully been completed, we can start to make significant gains and big wins in all areas of our work, living up to our commitment to deliver the very best service and exceeding the expectations of you our members,” she said.

The REC has been actively looking to recruit a CEO since last September.

Reynoids added that 2007 had been extremely successful, seeing corporate and individual membership rise by 6% and 8% respectively , effective lobbying “at the heart” of government, the production of the 2020 Report and culminating in “our proudest achievement”, winning the Confederation of British Industry’s Trade Association of the Year Award.

The REC’s AGM will be held on 4 June at the Park Plaza County Hall, 1 Addington Street, London.

The report of directors and the annual accounts will be head as well as the election of corporate and individual directors.
