Time to Act

Just when you thought you were getting to grips with the Construction Act, our leader, Mr Gordon Brown announced yesterday changes will be pushed through.

The areas which will be addressed will be payment and adjudication. The measures announced in the Community Empowerment, Housing and Economic Regeneration Bill will “improve the operation of construction contracts,” including “improving cash flow through construction supply chains and, where appropriate, encouraging parties to resolve disputes by adjudication rather than by litigation.”

The changes will be welcomed in most circles where gaps were evident at its introduction 7 years ago.
