All Change at Croydon

The current director of Planning and Transportation at Croydon Borough Council has decided to step down from his post to explore other professional goals according to reports .

Philip Goodwin has been at the council since 1994 and has been instrumental ion the changes that have occurred in Croydon, helping to put it back on the map as London's second city.

Under Goodwin’s stewardship the borough has installed the area’s tram network, the building of Croydon Clocktower, the development of the Grants building on Croydon High Street and launching Vision 2020.Goodwin has also been a key backer of Arrowcroft’s arena-led plans for the Croydon Gateway.

Meanwhile in n unrelated move, developer Hyde Housing Association has decided to pull out of a £100m project in Croydon to build 500 homes. The reason being that it was “no longer willing to proceed in the current uncertain economic climate.”

A decision is due to be announced shortly from Croydon on how they will continue with this development
