Whittaker Invests in Land Sec
The owner of Peel Group, John Whittaker has surprised many by taking an increased share holding in Land Securities according to reports in the FT and Property Week.
Peel Group is one of the largest Private Developers around, owning Liverpool John Lennon Airport, ports of the Mersey Docks & Harbour Company, Clydeport, the Manchester Ship Canal and Medway Ports.
His stake in Land Securities, is valued at £260m, equivalent to a paltry 4%.
Although not his first investment in another property developer, it is a major shift away from his business interests in the North of England
