Foster and World Domination
Has Norman Foster really designed his biggest disaster yet?
The aptly named Black Sea Gardens, which was allegedly also considered as the name of the lair for a James Bond villain, a Bulgarian resort has been heavily criticised by the locals.
The purpose made eco-friendly, carbon neutral resort, costing a cool one billion Euros has not only been criticised by the locals, but by the press as well.
Gus Alexander wrote of the scheme on building.co.uk in January: “It reminds me of a very low-key resort called “Monadnock” described in Ayn Rand's “The Fountainhead”, a preposterous tale of an architect reinventing architectural civilisation on his own by going back to first principles.”
The Black Sea Gardens will be a 219ha development of five hill towns dotted with lakes, parks and other leisure attractions.
15,000 people will live in new communities named Sky Village, Wilderness Village, Meadow Village, Cape Village and Sea Village.
Has someone been reading too much sci-fi?
