Massive Canary Wharf Development

The Wood Wharf Consortium have submitted proposals for the development of a 17acre site adjacent to Canary Wharf.

The scheme will be a mixed use development of housing and commercial space.

The group submitted plans for 4.9m sq ft of offices and 1,668 homes to Tower Hamlets council this week.

Jason Larkin, Wood Wharf’s executive director of planning said: ‘This will be one of the UK’s largest mixed use developments. Our vision is to create a new world-class business and residential urban quarter set within an exciting waterside setting.’

He said the buildings would also be sustainable, and would include ‘eco-islands’ and nature walks.
