New £25m Hotel Scheme

It is clear that the there is no better time to build hotels than the present, Property Week has reported that North-west-based developer Kubik Design has signed up Whitbread-owned hotelier Premier Inn to anchor its £25m Gateway scheme in Preston.

In a deal announced today, Premier Inn has agreed to take a 136-bed hotel at the city centre scheme which will also include 18,000 sq ft of retail space.

Kubik Design, part of the Amadeus Group, won planning consent for the scheme at the junction of Fox Street and Ringway, earlier this month.

Tim Mulholland, director at Kubik Design said ‘the scheme will also provide Preston’s first purpose built serviced apartments, offering 74 apartments available on a daily, weekly, monthly or annual basis.’
