Galliford Try plc Appointed on £43 million School and Development Project

Galliford Try plc announced today that it has been appointed as preferred bidder on the Big Build project for Rutland County Council at Oakham. The £23 million construction project is for a 900 student school and community facilities, as well as the acquisition and development of a residential site for circa 120 homes, both for affordable housing and open market sale, with a development value of around £20 million.

The construction project will commence on site in spring 2009 with build completion and handover of the housing site for the commencement of development to Galliford Try in 2011.

Greg Fitzgerald, Chief Executive, commented: “This project is an excellent example of how Galliford Try can generate best value for its clients by using both its contracting and housebuilding skills to deliver a single source solution. We are delighted to be working with Rutland County Council to bring their objectives to fruition.”
