Murdered recruiter trial starts

The recruiter reports that the trial of a man accused of murdering the head of a recruitment agency in New Inn, Pontypool, and attempting to kill three other agency employees is expected to last three weeks.

Lorry driver Russell Carter, 52, of Cardiff, denies murdering Kingsley Monk and the attempted murder of three other Driverline 247 employees in Torfaen. The trial is being held at Newport Crown Court.

The jury in the murder trial on Tuesday visited the site of Monk’s death. According to the South Wales Argus, the jury heard on Monday that Carter went to the agency and waited for staff to arrive before subjecting them to a “terrifying” attack which lasted more than four hours.
