Morgan Sindall lands £71 million Airbus deal
Morgan Ashurst has won a £71.4m contract from aircraft maker Airbus to build a new high-tech composite wing assembly facility in Broughton, Flintshire. a project that could create 400 new jobs. The 52,300m² North Factory facility will be used to make carbon fibre wings and include workshops and offices and is expected to complete in October 2010.
Morgan Ashurst will also install the utilities for the building including power, gas, water and compressed air and its sister company, Morgan Professional Services (MPS), will design the entire building and providing architectural, civil and structural engineering design and the concept for the mechanical and electrical services.
Paul Smith, Morgan Sindall chief executive, said: “This latest contract win is further evidence of the benefit we can bring to our clients’ businesses by offering integrated design and build project services. It enhances our range of industrial projects, bringing further balance to our construction division’s project portfolio.”
