Shanghai Expo 2010 Shortlist
The shortlist of designs for the proposed 2010 British Pavilion were unveiled last week.
The shortlist consists of Thomas Heatherwick, Zaha Hadid; Marks Barfield Architects ; Avery Associates Architects; Draw Architects; and John McAslan + Partners.
The designs, which are included on the blog from Zaha Hadid are slightly futuristic and are going to take a lot of sky hooks to build.
The idea of building a pavilion dates back to 1851 when London constructed it's first pavilion. 'The objective of the competition is to create an entire visitor experience for the pavilion, combining design components to deliver a lasting impression of the British contribution to the Expo theme: Better City, Better Life.'
Why can't we just dismantle the dome and dump that over there?
