Christmas Slow Down.... It's Official!
According to an article in this mornings Telegraph, an estimated 9m workers will mentally switch off even though they are still on company's time
Time in the office will be spent on searching for gifts for Christmas, booking holidays and gossiping about who's backside was photocopied at the Xmas party. Meanwhile lunches are longer and more boozy. After work parties and get together's lead to the late mornings.
Most employees admit that seeing colleagues disappear before going home time, encourages them to skive off as well.
Of the 2,500 people questioned by Teletext holidays, the nearly a quarter of workers plan to go out on up to ten work nights during December, a fifth have up to five long lunches scheduled and nearly half said coming into work hungover during the festive build up was perfectly acceptable.
Making up meetings in the Christmas run up is not uncommon so employees can slip out and get their last bit of Xmas shopping.
