Boss-Spasming
What are your favourite news terms banded around the office? Which ones do you hate the most?
Never mind about your Blue Sky moment or wasting time running ideas up a flagpole.
A story in the Times yesterday captured some of the more ridiculous offerings from the office floor:
Boss-spasming, means suddenly looking busy as a manager enters the room.
"Workspace-specific perceptual abstraction" might be more commonly known as daydreaming.
An "inter-departmental liaison facilitation" is an arguably long-winded way of describing lunch.
"I've been spinning my wheels for some time, what I need is some traction" implies that the speaker feels they are going nowhere in their role.
Unfeasible plans or theories might be dismissed if the holder has "a bite of the reality sandwich".
