Name & Shame of Illegal Immigrants
In an attempt to cut down on illegal immigrants, the Government has named and shamed a number of businesses who employ staff who are not eligible to work in the UK.
Since the start of the Governments efforts four months ago, over 200 companies have been prosecuted.
Some 35 firms have been named on its website, alongside 37 directors. They were fined a total of almost £303,000 for employing 56 illegal workers. The vast majority were restaurants or take-aways.
The number of immigrants working and living in the UK is simply not known, estimates suggest 500,00 people. Over 7,500 officers will be deployed to tackle this problem.
